Non your ordinary beloved story, and information technology's a cautionary tale. A very cautionary tale.

It's not pretty by any means. Information technology's dark, raw and gritty, and tells of something very existent. I enjoy reading books like this way too much lol, is that wrong of me?

Thanks so much for the read, Terry, you handled the subject affair and insensity very, very well. I'd love to hear more than from this verse old. Maybe? Hopefully? ....

What is wrong with me that I honey these dark books? I mean, I like happy. I similar light hearted. I like cute and funny. Merely I dear Dark. I dear Gritty. Please don't tell my family unit. They are notwithstanding puzzling over the werewolves and vampires. Not sure they could handle it.

Gwen is a virgin cheerleader dating the lacrosse captain. Stop right there. You know nothing adept tin can happen to her. Naught good ever happens to virgin cheerleaders. One less affair for me to worry about.

My last conscious idea was that I should have let Brandon drive me home.

Lance is the son of The Boss. No, not Bruce Springsteen. The Dominate is the head of the People Who Kidnap Cheerleaders Alliance (PWKVCA). The Dominate is not a good guy. Fortunately for Gwen, Lance is. Well….not totally a good guy, but certainly better than the other members of the Coalition for Keeping Cheerleaders in the Basement.

….I'll protect you and intendance for you, no affair what I accept to do to attain that.

Only can Lance make those promises? There are lots of things and people Gwen needs protecting from. Tin Gwen let Lance save her at the expense of the other Virgin Cheerleaders in Bondage Gild? Will Gwen intermission like so many of the other girls accept? The People Who Kidnap Virgin Cheerleaders Alliance wants to make them submit without totally losing their marbles. But if they exercise lose their mind….at that place are plenty more stupid girls walking domicile alone out there.

Seems like that Stockholm thing can get both means. Lance falls simply every bit hard for Gwen. He is willing to risk everything to keep her safe. And it might just be everything he is risking. The members of the PWKVCA really like the benefits that come up with Alliance status.

I'm not your master, love. How tin I be your master when your command over me is so strong I'd give annihilation and everything for you?

This is in the genre of Kidnappy Reads. If you take been agape to dip your toes into those nighttime waters, this is a good start for you. It is certainly not fluffy bunny kidnapping just also not as graphic as some. It takes you to the edge of Oh My God What Did I Just Read without you having to spring completely over the cliff.

And so class, what have nosotros learned today?
1. Virgin Cheerleaders should not walk home alone. At night. Ever.
2. Stockholm Syndrome with a sexy, dirty talker similar Lance sounds like it might be fun.
3. Ms Towers can write.

Grade dismissed.

    "Yous've been taken."

Trust was actually a expert read. I had my doubts but with a synopsis like that I simply had to gamble on information technology. And then glad I did!

    The story:
Gwen Anderson had information technology all:

    description

Adept looks, a loving family and star lacrosse fellow, equally well every bit a bright time to come. That is, until she was abducted and made a slave.

"I'm no longer a person. I'm a commodity. Gwen Anderson is dead and slave number 342 has taken her place."

Now in a earth where humanity is at a loss and your best hope is to either: 1) endure the physical, mental, emotional and sexual corruption ii) exist sold 3) AND/or end upwards dead

Volition Gwen be able to escape and brand it out alive while non putting her life and those she loves' lives at jeopardy? Or break and face the same the same dismal fate as many before her?

"The only mode you go out of hither is when you're sold. Of if you lot're expressionless. The only pick accept is how easy or difficult life can be for y'all while here."

    Now enter: Lance Winters.

    description

"The Boss's son" and next in line to his father's underground concern. Deadly handsome and secretive by nature, he has a past and an calendar of his ain. Just when Gwen steps into the motion-picture show, his resolve is shot to hell.

    description

    description

Gone is the cold, indifferent crush of a human he one time was and at present an overprotective, remorseful, 'Savior Lance' has taken identify.

How will Lance must figure out how to execute his plans while saving the girl he loves? Will his and Gwen's forbidden romance be able to withstand the true terrors and repercussions they're about to unleash?

    description

And Gwen. Volition she exist able to save the other slaves?

"He pulled me into his arms and I welcomed his encompass. But even every bit he held me I couldn't help just recollect about the girls downstairs. Those girls didn't accept anyone to fight for them. I had to do something, I just had no idea what information technology was."

    description

What about Lance's dad and the rest of the individuals involved in kidnapping and trafficking women for turn a profit? Will she and Lance exist able to stop the existent monsters behind this heinous offense system? And will they ever life a normal life in one case once more? Read and yous volition find out!

"I took your life from yous."
I shook my head. He may have been part of the organisation that had taken me, but he hadn't.
    "No. You lot saved me."

My thoughts: So over all, I really liked this read. Information technology did demand to pick upwards on the pacing at times and used a picayune more action on it just all and all it was adept. My biggest criticisms though stem from the instant attraction that they accept and the ending. I hate insta-love relationships and chemistry that is not expanded on. I just wasn't 100% sold on "Gweance." More like, 75% maybe. I mean, I couldn't find an exact connection between them other than Lance was drawn to her innocence and purity to which he had lost long agone; and Gwen liking him because he was handsome and nice to her.

As for the ending: it could have been edited out because it was random and unnecessary. Everything was adept and and then that little "update" at the end popped up and I was like, "okay, that was prissy. But was totally unneeded."

All and all though, a decent exposure to the globe of man trafficking and of what happens when yous develop Stockholm syndrome and fall in love with your captor. Okay well, the Stockholm syndrome comment was a fleck harsh on Lance, simply as he had put it in the story, he'south guilty past "clan"!

Trust me guys, this one is one heck of a sensual and gritty read! You will be kept constantly wondering who volition make it out alive and who will non? As well as, what will be the outlook for Gwen and Lance IF they do escape?

    Great job Ms. Terry Towers!

    Four CAPTIVE-ating Stars!

When I was approached by Ms. Towers to read and review her newest creation, venturing from contemporary romance to a more to dark themed genre, I didn't hesitate to scoop it up...and I don't regret the conclusion. I really enjoyed it. A few things didn't quite hit the mark for me, but overall, a captivating read.

Gwen, against her better judgment, decides to walk domicile at midnight alone from her boyfriend Brandon's house. Big. Mistake. Gwen is abducted by human traffickers and dumped into a van, drugged, and taken to a dungeon within a sprawling mansion. She is not alone...cell after jail cell of young women taken, to exist trained, and sold to the highest applicant. Her abductors demand submission, respect, compliance, or they will be raped, beaten...killed.

And then Lance walks through the dungeon door. He'due south to train Gwen...he'south her personal monster...she thinks.

    Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

Lance is different from the other Masters. He doesn't beat or rape her...In fact, upon physical exam, she'south found to be a virgin making her that much more than valuable. Nobody is to bear on her, train her, but Lance. Lance is The Boss' son...second in control to this sadistic operation. She wants to hate him only she struggles to. He almost seems to want to PROTECT her, not impairment her. He warns her, versus punishing her. Gwen begins the confusing state of whether to detest him or trust him...much less be attracted to him. He's dark, bluish eyes...the virtually beautiful man she's ever laid eyes on.

Reader beware...this is not a hearts and flowers romance. This isn't Stockholm Syndrome specifically, but a story of two people coming together in the worst of situations, finding trust, want...love. Lance isn't the monster she thought him to be. He teaches her how to survive...volition he assistance prevent her beingness sold as well?

Equally I said, I relish near nighttime reads. This book didn't fail me. Information technology flowed well. I didn't hesitate to switch to Squad Lance, hoping for some semblance of HEA for the two of them...for the whole lot of girls. This book is not light though...there is rape, murder, and tin be quite graphic. Not the well-nigh graphic volume I've read past far though. I try non to compare or name other books in my reviews if I can help it but nosotros know the "nighttime" biggies. It's similar to slightly lighter, in my opinion.
    Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos
Why did I deduct a star? Showtime, Gwen'southward development just wasn't that conceivable to me. It didn't ruin information technology for me as this is fiction afterwards all, merely information technology didn't quite fit. Here's a virgin high school senior abducted, browbeaten, raped, and she falls quite quickly for her captor. At present, Lance is not the rapist and doesn't trounce her, but she fairly apace latches to him, finding herself joking, laughing, not to mention being pretty sexually assertive. For a contempo virgin...not what I imagine a person to be like.

Also, certain terms used in the book are triggers for me...triggers that risk the safe of my kindle to the wall...terms such equally member, manhood, nectar... Shoot. Me. Now. Those belong in Harlequin books, non dark erotic reads. Wasn't a killer for me but I cringed each fourth dimension those words were mentioned.

Looking forward to more dark reads from Ms. Towers. I know this is a first for her in this field of study matter and I think she'due south got a winner here.

    And I cheers,

This is the first book I accept read by Terry Towers and while it had amazing potential I but brutal short for me.

I will get-go with the basic synopsis where a young, all American girl has a brilliant time to come ahead of her. Gwen is a blonde haired beauty looking frontwards to life after loftier schoolhouse, but she instead finds herself kidnapped and at the mercy of a very savage and sadistic organization working the human slave trade. Held in a cage, ordered to obey the master, she must submit quick every bit she is a prime number sell for big money at auction.

Lance Winters is deep in the organization working as his father'due south #1 coin maker. One look at Gwen and he takes it upon himself to practise her training. This guy is big and beautiful and very smart. He also does non vest in this earth. He has participated in all kinds of illegal activities from drug and gun trade only he somehow has a conscience. He cannot comport to hurt this new prisoner and he goes against everything he has known to make her his ain.

Sounds pretty good right? Yes...and damn if the encompass isn't enough to make yous say Hell yes! So what was the trouble? Well, honestly I felt equally if the whole tale was really emotionally asunder with the characters. The whole tale, yes fiction, was very unrealistic. A young naïve daughter wakes in a cage...some of her first thoughts are "wow that guy is really hot to be a kidnapper." And since when do enslaved girls who have been raped and killed talk openly and freely like it is a tea party? I only didn't feel equally if there was enough emotion from Gwen...no real fearfulness, no real self disgust at some of the deportment she was forced to do. Likewise, Lance was a complete mess of a bad human. He has spent his life in the "business organization" yet he is all "are y'all ok?" mr. gentle touches, "I wont allow them hurt you lot." WHAT??? WHY??? Together they are even more unrealistic. I just couldn't go the whole constant lovin' and the I'm then horny attitude from Gwen. Yous had a young man...a family...a time to come...oh and yous were a virgin, remember? Oh look, you are too decorated planning a time to come with the bad male child and getting off to actually intendance!

Perhaps the issue is that I take read this tale before...Pam Godwin's Evangelize and CJ Robert's Captive in the Dark are two of my favorite in the "innocent gets kidnapped/tortured" genre! This read deals with harsh subject affair...real psychological terror...merely it was but amiss. Instead of messing with my listen and making me think, it simply was meh' overall. I look forward to Ms Towers hereafter works every bit I tin can see the potential!!!

This was written in dual 1st Person POV, which I honey.

The heroine suffered in the hands of those assholes and there were a few disgusting scenes, like her sucking off the boss, he was old so it was actually gross. And so I thought she was gonna go raped, thank god Lance saw it...

I didn't feel that sorry or scared for her because I knew that Lance was a not bad guy and that he would end up as her knight in shining armour. I did feel bad for the other girls, a few died, and the others were badly injure.

I think it would have been improve if she was hurt showtime, like she got raped or suffered more than than the others earlier Lance appeared. I didn't pity her coz she didn't suffer much, and more suffering, more gruesome scenes means higher ratings!

Lance is a softie, so he'south not one I consider as an alpha male, which is kind of disappointing. It's what I expect in a dark novel.

I like actually night novels, this one is on the soft side. I likewise Like the idea of Lance having sex with the twins and Gwen suffering through it, but... that didn't really happen, though I would have loved information technology if it did..

Anyways, it was proficient... simply wasn't plenty for a dark novel, I mean, I phone call novels like this equally dark novel, so it this own't a nighttime novel, tell me.. ;)

And so this is the starting time book I have read past this author and I truly loved it! I was engaged in the story from start to finish.... There were a couple of "problems" I had which prevented me from a 5 star read, issues that under "normal" circumstances would have either turned me off or may have been a bargain breaker if I had seen it in the reviews before I read it simply due to the circumstances of the story I did get why those bug had to be in there.....Bang-up job Terry and I wait forwad to reading more of your books in the time to come! PS She said herself that she planned on doing a second book...sequel if you lot will, although this book doesn't end on a cliffhanger, it did leave me wanting more of those two:) I was pleasantly surprised to hear that and I practise look forward to more of this story and how the hereafter plays out!!!!

Trust is a strange mix of a story. Yep, it'due south a gritty, dark story. Only it's likewise has some swoon-worthy romantic moments as well. Ordinarily, stand up-solitary novels can frequently get this mix of genre'due south incorrect for my taste simply considering they can feel as well rushed or disingenuous given the length/development of the book's plot... but it ended up working for this particular story.

SYNOPSIS: Gwen Anderson is kidnapped when walking dwelling house from her boyfriend's firm. She is taken to a compound and is informed that in a few curt days, she will be auctioned off and sold to the highest bidder. While formulating her program of escape, Gwen meets Lance. While Lance appears cold and unaffected to the others around him, Gwen can see something in him beyond the facade. Lance knows it's dangerous to get too close to the women existence kept in the compound, but something about Gwen draws him in despite himself.

What made Trust unlike from other stories of this genre was that Gwen and Lance'south relationship isn't a Stockholm Syndrome type of state of affairs. Gwen doesn't connect with Lance because she feels she has to for her own protection, or considering Lance is her all-time pick. Gwen continues to exist with Lance because she wants to exist. She trusts the instincts that tell her Lance wouldn't cause her damage.

"I don't want yous considering I feel I owe you annihilation. I want you lot because y'all're my lite in a place where at that place isn't a speck of information technology." – Gwen

Also, Lance wants to exist with Gwen because he admires the compassionate person she is. He'due south had to shut off his emotions and play by the rules of the compound for then long that he looks to Gwen for reassurance that he'southward non too far gone.

          VERY SPOILERY Swoon-worthy moment:

For me, this volume hovers between 3 and 4 stars. Information technology was well written, with a few errors hither and there that didn't make it the way of my reading enjoyment, and information technology kept my interest correct upwardly until the end. I nigh require a happy ever later ending in the books I read, and this one provided information technology, only something just felt trite and flat almost the fashion it concluded.

Yeah, this is nighttime erotica, merely information technology is dark-erotica light that fully embraces the fantasy aspect of a capture fantasy. Gwen is the caput cheerleader in her high school, xviii years old, and a virgin. The author avoids the negative stereotypes of high schoolhouse cheerleaders. Gwen is non selfish, not prone to hysteria, and does not hate her parents, in fact she is very aware of how fortunate she is in life. She is not perfect perhaps, but then close to it that she doesn't come up off equally very realistic. No, cheerleaders don't need to be selfish to be realistic, merely, for an 18 yr old, Gwen had her human activity together. Heck, she had her deed together for an adult several decades older! Lance was equally unrealistic - just too practiced to be true (yes, right downward to his stone hard torso and the impressive size of his....er...anxiety ;P)!

The bad guys were heinous and did unbelievably evil things, but except for one incident the reader is removed from the truly evil doings. I do have to admit the writer had me guessing past not doing what I expected. ;)

The lesser line is I enjoyed this story, but it did feel every bit if information technology lacked believability - fifty-fifty within the fantasy earth of fiction.

This was the first book for me by this writer, and I was then glad she found, and offered information technology to me equally I enjoyed it very much. Information technology was dissimilar from other "Dark BDSM" books I've read. I wouldn't actually consider this "Nighttime" in the context I'm used to reading, more of a lighter version of dark... or a tad bit darker than vanilla. The sex was good, merely still only a darker vanilla. More like a "night romance" I like dingy, gritty, hardcore, dark non-con usually.

Just, this *was* a good book and information technology grabbed and held my involvement from the showtime direct through to the end.

It was well written, plausible and definitely a new spin on non-con. If you don't like to read the really dark, hardcore, not-con, than this book could be for yous information technology's a good compromise, and a adept gateway book if y'all'd like to take an easy footstep towards the dark side.

I give information technology a two.v rounded upward cuz I'm feeling generous and snaps for endeavour but definitely dark erotica genre isn't for everybody to write specially if you are used to writing from the softer side of things... peradventure it's considering I like it raw and muddied... and I hate wishy washy greyness books either give me hearts and flowers or requite me gritty and fucked up.

I liked the sex just fifty-fifty then it felt like it was correct out of a vanilla romance. ..

The plot was too linear, fifty-fifty the "shockers" were too predictable... information technology kinda felt similar I was reading a soft core version of "Madeleine Abducted"

This is the starting time book by Terry Towers that I have read. The only thing I knew was that this was a dark romance. I was intrigued, this is a genre I have come to like. I was non prepared for how bully this book was! I loved the black and white of life becoming a whole lot of grey. The fact that none of us know how we would react if our ain lives were flipped upside down in a nano second. This volume makes you constantly think about some hard questions. It does not let up for a second, and that is what makes this such a great read. Of course, books like this are not for everyone. Its subject area matter can exist besides much for some, but I loved information technology.
When the story opens, Gwen is at the meridian of her loftier school fame, captain of the cheerleaders, dating the top jock, looking forwards to going to Stanford in the fall. She is saving herself for afterward graduation, merely she is thinking it is more than because she is not in love. Its tardily, merely she decides to walk home from her boyfriends business firm. In a wink, the life she knew is over. Abducted from the road, she is thrown into a world she has studied, simply never imagined she would enter. No longer Gwen, her new name is slave 342. She has awoken to a hell she is not prepared for. Being "trained" to exist sold into the slave globe, her cell is just the beginning of her fright. She doesn't know if she is going to be killed out right for something like the Asian girl, or exist raped repeatedly in the proper noun of preparation. When she survives her first introduction to the Boss, although not without marks, she really gets how bad it tin be. When the Boss's son, Lance, takes on her training, she thinks she may exist losing it, seeing as how she is drawn to him.
Lance grew up thinking his father loved him. He thought his dad loved his mom every bit well. When that turned out to non be the truth, he decided to fix that situation. Slowly getting more than and more than involved in the concern, he started making plans. Little did he know that a beautiful blonde was going to turn his world on its head.
Has everything expert in him been killed past what he has had to do? Tin can Gwen survive being sold? How nearly all the other girls being held? What could you do to survive? Can anything expert come from such evil places? Volition either of them ever be gratuitous once more? What volition Gwen do to help all of those girls? Could a good person impale another human being? How in the world tin anyone this evil have any skillful left?
There are and so many neat questions that come up in this book and they are all answered. This volume is an incredible look at things nosotros don't want to look to closely at and it does non disappoint in exploring all of it. This is 1 of the best dark romances I have read, and I look forward to reading more from this wonderful author. If you like your books on the dark side, grab this i. You won't exist disappointed.

                I give it 4 stars.
For those who want to read about sex slave and human trafficking but fear to take a as well raw reading.

Ever wanted to read "The Dark Duet " or "Escape From Paradise" but afraid information technology would be also brutal to stomach? Y'all like a romance with protective hero through and through? Well this book is for y'all.

I found it a proficient compromise. It highlights the backstage of human trafficking. How a human listen is trained into submission by repeated abuses. Merely at the aforementioned time, the author throws a veil when it could get "too much to deport".
Don't misunderstand me. It's not "rainbows and ponies". You've got murder scenes, suggested rape and forced graphic fellation. Some girls give nether pressure and lose their mind.
But.. the romance is still strongly present, more than in other books of the genre. If y'all would apply culinary illustration I would say it'due south nor rare nor well done either but medium.

The heroine is relatively sheltered thanks to Lance'southward protection early on in the book.

                To the plot now.

Gwen is captain of a cheerleader team, golden daughter of her town and the mayor's girl. She has a young man (merely is nonetheless a virgin) and will shortly attend university.
All her dreams are shatterd the moment she is abducted.
She is thrown in an cloak-and-dagger dungeon with other girls, destined to become a sex slave afterwards her sale.
She is beaten, undressed and collared similar a dog. I'm no longer a person. I'thousand a article. Slave 342.

Lance is The Boss's son. We shortly learn he has "a plan" and wants revenge for his mother'south expiry.
Self disciplined to show no emotions or weaknesses he's go cold and detached. He still sees the amorality of his world and declares himself "guilty past association". He never hoped to deserve salvation.
But Gwen's innocence and vitality stir forgotten feelings in his heart. From the kickoff, he is determined to protect her from his father's goons depravity while still trying to reach his goal.
He'll teach her hard decisions accept to be made to survive. It'southward all virtually self preservation.

I liked the romance and their instant attraction. Despite or maybe because of the circumstances, they'll find each other. This relationship was f***** up and maybe it was toxic, the feelings flowing between us amplified past intense circumstances. I was drowning in him and didn't want to exist saved.

The sexual activity scenes are steamy hot and Lance is gorgeous.
I loved Gwen's integrity and conclusion to protect the other girls. She is skillful to the cadre and her goodness is calling to Lance's adept side. She is his beacon of light, his everything in a ill world filled with monsters.

So, all in all a very enjoyable read I finished in one twenty-four hours.

You lot know that reader-infinite, where you're just kind of hovering in between liking and not liking a volume? I'm kinda there with this one. I call up I can explain why.

The story centers around Gwen and Lance. Gwen is a cute little high school cheerleader that gets kidnapped on her way back from her boyfriend's house and tossed into an underground slave merchandise. Lance is The Boss's son, who didn't seem to be a very agile participant in the nasty dealings of his male parent's business. That is, until he'south given his first grooming assignment - to make Gwen a nice piddling submissive for her potential buyers. Of course, things don't quite go equally planned for the Bossman when Gwen and Lance autumn for each other. And Lance has definitely been keeping his secrets from the business...

I liked the concept of this book. Information technology was a very dark story, but seemed a piddling more than focused on the proficient (beloved & affection) rather than the bad (rape & murder). That sounds silly, only I liked it. My trouble was that I felt very detached through the entire matter. I couldn't e'er get myself to truly care almost whatever of the characters, because I felt and so emotionally distant. It was a lot of storyline ("This happened, then this happened, then this."), but not much depth to annihilation. And the ending felt really rushed and fell a little flat for me.

Yet, there was definitely some practiced stuff in there! The other men that worked for the system were heinous, and the slave-merchandise story really came out between them and the other caged girls. I liked Lance every bit a character, seeing him torn between his emotions and his brain. I would have liked more than story on him. Plus - I can't forget to mention - Ms. Towers tin can write that sex similar WHOA. E'er enjoyed the scenes between Gwen and Lance... even if some of them were a little far-fetched.

So, three stars. That's what I practice when I write a review on a book, and even so detect myself floating in reader-space. I did relish the read, I think I only wanted a footling more to invest in.

I was given a free copy of this volume in exchange for an honest review. I had never heard of this author or read whatever of her work until now, and since I usually tend to read the more darker, grittier stuff, TRUST looked like it would be correct upwardly my alley. I really wanted to love information technology and for the nearly part, it was a well written suspenseful book with no glaring typos or hard to understand plot, merely I recall my issue is that there are just way also many books on the market right now with nearly the exact same story, so it lacked the originality that would accept given it that edge.
Gwen is the well known, well liked cheerleader in her small town and when she is kidnapped on her way home late at night, her whole world is forever changed.
Lance is the son of The Boss, the despicable head of a corporation that has many business ventures, one of which is the auction of women as sexual slaves to wealthy clients. When he is assigned to the beautiful, virginal Gwen as her "trainer" the inevitable happens...and of course he falls for her and his business organization now becomes more pleasure than training with her.
At that place is a lot more background story and plots behind the scene, regarding Lance and his father and the true nature of their relationship, equally well equally some revelations about Lance's real motives for helping Gwen. I tin can't really say besides much without spoiling the surprises and twists.
TRUST is suspenseful, fierce and disturbing at times likewise every bit filled with enough of sexual encounters (both con and non-con) between Gwen and her captors. Information technology was a fast paced dark romance and my main regret is that there was nil new or original to differentiate it from all of the other capture books I have already read...I kept thinking everything sounded too familiar.
It can exist read every bit a standalone since there is a sort of HEA at the end...but there is room left for a continuation if the writer decides to wrap up a couple of loose ends that could become more of a story down the road.

4 Stars. This is the second book I've read by this writer and I have to say, I'g impressed. This was a page turner, it is definitely a nighttime erotic romance. The MC's meet and autumn in love in i of the almost unimaginable places, a sexual activity slave compound. While he is the son of the owner, "her abductor", he is also her savior.

I really enjoyed this story. Both characters are likable. The heroine was unbelievably potent and wise across her years. She excepted the horrible reality she was in without allowing it to break her. I liked how both characters, while having an instant attraction, it nevertheless didn't feel like a Insta love situation. Don't get me incorrect, information technology didn't take long, merely it was understandable due to the circumstances of their environment, the manner he treated her and the attraction they already shared, it was inevitable that they would be together. I just enjoyed the way it was written. Information technology was applied.

I will say, there is, of course abduction and rape in this story and then if you are sensitive to those topics I would stay clear. Otherwise, this was an enjoyable read with great characters, an intriguing plot and steamy sexual activity scenes with a dark twist.

                    What did I just read!

Ugh there's nothing worse than reading/listening to a book to find out that the audio narrator is awful. The entire time I was listening it sounded like he was eating something in the background or typing something. Plus he didn't even change voices for the H or the h. The sex scenes sounded similar my granddad was reading them to me and I don't think I have to say how disturbing that was to listen to.

The actual book could've been written better. The descriptions were lack luster and didn't draw me in at all. It was your typical case of daughter gets kidnapped, kidnapper falls in love with her and risks everything to save her while girl constantly tells him that he's not every bit bad as he thinks he is. At about 40% I was near to give up and as I finished this I really wish I would've!

DONT IGNORE THIS REVIEW! There are so many other books with this type of story that are written better!

                      2.v - 3 stars....
I am going to say this was just okay for me. If you experience similar dipping your toes into night romance books, this may be a skilful kickoff, as it was pretty light on the 'night'. I liked the concept of the book. The son of a big human trafficker is looking to go out of the business concern, and falls for a slave. The writing was also pretty skilful. Personally it felt rushed. I didn't really feel much much of a connection to the MC'due south, and wasn't that invested. I can see how this would work for others, it just didn't work for me.

Gwen Anderson is your regular teen walking late at night where she was abducted. This is the commencement of the night erotic tale were she meets Lance Winters, the son of the homo called "The Boss", and the twist turns this story into a deal with human trafficking, sex, and drama; it's a roller coster ride from beginning to end.

Interesting book virtually abduction and human being trafficking. Although probably not realistic in the end & tough to read -I couldn't put information technology downward until I knew what happened to Gwen.
I will definitely read other books from this author.

This is a dark romance volume, but for me personally it wasn't as dark as it could have been. Yep, at that place are scenes that will make you cringe and definitely hate the perpetrators.

Just put, this just needed more time and depth. At that place wasn't any substance to the characters beyond the immediate situation, and they read as stereotypes of Exactly the 2 main characters you lot'd expect to feature in the book one time yous heard its plot. Equally in, exactly--zip more to them. As might be expected from this problem, this book featured the worst example of insta-love I've ever seen in a published piece of work, cocky-published or otherwise. The characters had had nearly no time together, and suddenly... dear.

Essentially, the book just suffered from a lack of depth. The characters' motivations weren't conceivable considering the merely motivation seen or referenced was that unbelievable, perfect dear that came out of nowhere, and there wasn't plenty particular to any aspect of the work to make the plot bear it along, it was so predictable.

In a way, it was a stereotype of the whole genre of night romance, with no depth or detail to be had.

Honestly, I've read a lot of cocky-published books that were outstanding--probably more good ones than bad, in fact, since I endeavor to exist picky about the ones I selection upwards. Just this? Well, this is one of those books that makes you empathize why some readers swear off self-publishing authors entirely.

                              Obviously, I wouldn't recommend it.

                              Almost 5 stars

I wish that there was a one-half a star option. This was and then close to five stars. Information technology was just missing that major emotion that makes me feel it to
My basic. Well written with angst and dark and dirty moments. A girl is abducted and being prepared to be sold in the human trafficking ring in her town. She's a planner and almost immediately starts trying to plan a way out. While information technology contains dark themes and triggers it is a keen story of beloved overcoming everything. Information technology's a consummate standalone and then there will exist no cliffhangers but tons of emotional angst to wreck your heart.

Mixed feelings on this one...I haven't read a lot of books that deal with human trafficking and while the writing was good and the characters were engaging, I don't think this i was for me. I thought information technology would focus more than on his need for revenge and I had a couple times where disappointment in his lack of protection for her overwhelmed me. I like my MC's to exist OTT alpha's that will go above and beyond to protect the h despite everything going on around them.

This was my offset book to read by Terry Towers. This volume is a dark romance and in some areas information technology's raw and muddy. This book may not be for faint heart.

Gwen is an 18 twelvemonth. old girl in Loftier school. She is popular, pretty and her young man is the captain of the Lacrosse team. She is the All American girl looking forward to graduating and going off to college.
Then everything changes one night walking home from her young man's firm. Waking up in dark room on a cot blindfolded, Gwen'due south worst night mare has happened. She has been kidnapped. Instantly she freaks out and the captors are not sympathetic to say the least. They rough her up some and tell her the rules she MUST follow in social club to survive. She then learns she was taken to exist a slave for human being trafficking.

I needed to stay calm, focused, if I wanted to get out alive. Losing myself in fear wasn't going to help. I needed a plan, strategize, and wait for the best moment to attempt and gain my freedom- until then I would go along with whatever they wanted for me. I'd be the star captive, until they permit their guard downwardly. Then I'd take my chance at liberty.

Gwen goes through some disturbing things. She meets the Big Boss and he completely disgusts me. He is given confirmation she is a virgin and gives his men strict orders she is not to exist touched because she will pull in big coin at the auction. He then tells Gwen she is to exist trained to behave similar a good submissive. He has his son, Lance practice the preparation this fourth dimension. He wants his son to have over one solar day and wants him to play a bigger role in these type of transactions. This is a take chances to prove himself.

Gwen is defenseless off guard when she meets Lance. He doesn't look like he fits in with the other guys hither. She sees sympathy in his eyes when they make centre contact. She oddly finds him extremely attractive.
Gwen and Lance journey is not for the faint heart. Some may recall how tin you autumn for your captor? Someone who trains slaves for a living to be sold to the highest applicant. Seems so far-fetched right?

Once I learned almost Lance and his past you will see sympathy for him. He really is a good guy and had to exercise what he had to do to survive in the globe he grew up in. He'south really not like the others and he does everything he can to make sure Gwen is safe and protected. Their relationship is not the norm by far, but you can't aid wanting them to accept a HEA.

Over all this volume was really skilful! I finished in it in 2 days. The story kept me intrigued and excited to see what would happen next. There were some hot scenes in information technology that fabricated me blush. My favorite is when he takes her in the bathroom before his surprise for her! SO FREAKING HOT!!!! I hope in that location might be a continuation of their story because there was some stuff that I felt was left unexplained or would be a great continuation of a story.
